‘I Don’t Sleep Much’: Trump Dismisses Speculation Over Closed-Eye Pictures

President Donald Trump vigorously defended his work ethic and wakefulness on Tuesday, insisting he is “not a sleeper” despite multiple recent photos and video clips showing him appearing to close his eyes during official Oval Office proceedings.

Speaking to reporters alongside Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the President was questioned about his time management and the widely circulated images that have fueled speculation about his energy levels.

Trump responded by stating that he and the Crown Prince share a similar, intense schedule, saying, “He does not sleep much, and I don’t sleep much.”

The President directly addressed the notion of presidential rest, arguing, “If you sleep a lot and you’re president… no, he’s not a sleeper, I’m not a sleeper.”

He linked his lack of sleep to patriotism, adding, “When you love your job, when you love your country, and when you’re in a position like we are… you’re thinking about your country. I don’t want to sleep.”

The White House had previously attempted to quell the rumors, stating after a November 6 event where a similar photo was taken that “the president was not sleeping,” but the leader’s own strong denial on Tuesday ensures the debate over his schedule and stamina will continue.
