WASHINGTON, March 4 — The White House confirmed today that President Donald Trump is using a preventative skin treatment for a rash on his neck, though officials declined to provide further details about the condition.
Photographs from Monday’s Medal of Honor ceremony showed a red, blotchy rash on the right side of the president’s neck, just above his collar line.
In a statement, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella said Trump is applying a “common cream” as part of a short-term treatment.
“The President is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks,” Barbabella noted.
Pressed for more information, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters she had no additional details beyond the physician’s statement.
At 79, Trump’s health has drawn heightened attention during his second term. In recent months, bruises on his hands and swelling in his legs have been visible.
- In January, Trump attributed hand bruising to his frequent use of aspirin, while aides said he had also injured his hand on a table during travel.
- In July, after his ankles appeared swollen, an ultrasound revealed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign but common condition in older adults.
Trump, who began his second term last year, remains the oldest U.S. president ever inaugurated. He frequently compares his health to that of former Democratic President Joe Biden.
