On July 22, 2025, a quiet neighborhood in Ridgeway, Virginia, was shattered by a double homicide that claimed the lives of 68-year-old William Leroy Morey and 22-year-old Mandy Michelle Coleman. The incident began when Morey, concerned for Mandy’s safety, visited her home on Meeks Road. He was found dead in the street, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Inside the home, deputies discovered Mandy, also deceased, with a single gunshot wound.
The alleged perpetrator was Mandy’s husband, 30-year-old Joshua Corbett Coleman. According to authorities, Joshua confronted Mandy about suspected infidelity, then retrieved a firearm and fatally shot her. Knowing he would be arrested, he reportedly sought out Morey—who had come to check on Mandy—and killed him as well.
Joshua fled the scene with his two young children, prompting a multi-agency search. He was apprehended during a traffic stop, armed with a handgun and an AR-15 rifle. Thankfully, the children were found safe and unharmed in the vehicle.

Joshua now faces multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony, shooting from an occupied vehicle, and child abuse. Sheriff Wayne Davis described the event as “heartbreaking and tragic,” commending law enforcement for their swift response and the safe recovery of the children.
This case has left a deep scar on the community, highlighting the devastating consequences of domestic violence and the importance of early intervention. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities continue to seek justice for the victims.
